This weekend was the final Saturday Club of this season. The weather was a bit grey, but the breeze was at a perfect level for our Saturday Clubbers, enough to make good progress but not so much as to turn the morning into an exhausting battle with the elements. The fleet was almost exclusively Toppers with one lone Tera, although there were plenty of Teras elsewhere on the lake- but more on that later.
After briefing, we launched and assembled at OL to head up into Toft Bay in an Easterly breeze. Once there we were sailing on a windward/leeward course with a particular focus on mark rounding and transitioning from running to beating or visa versa as we did so. Towards the end of the serious sailing bit of the session we switched to a triangular course and then, finally, headed off to our mooring area for one last bit of Funboat based mayhem for the year. Of course, the Jelly Babies and the Rhubarb & Custards came out and once a packet of each had been devoured, we headed back to the club on a broad reach with some nice slick landings finishing off the Saturday Club year. Brilliant sailing from everybody!
