At the end of the day will be a fun evening of entertainment with a live ceilidh band and professional BBQ catering.
If you would like to come for the evening fun, and if non-sailing/spectating family & friends want to come along too then their is the option to just purchase evening meal/ceilidh tickets.
Join us on Monday 27th May for the Sir C. Barratt Pursuit Race which is especially poignant as we celebrate our club’s 50th Birthday. Sir C. Barratt was the instrumental force in creating the club and this memorial race started in 1971, the year after he died. The winners (pictured) of the first race were Don Clements and Bill Stammers in the Mirror ‘Double Dutch’.
~ Change of Race Times ~
The 3rd race on Sundays has been changed to start not before 3pm. We hope that this earlier start will reduce waiting times after the 2nd race and encourage more participation.
Our boards and kit have finally arrived and staff have been out testing them over the weekend, so far no one has fallen in! We have 6 boards for members to hire at £10 per hour session. To hire you will need to complete a 1 hour introduction session which covers all safety aspects as well as teaching you paddle techniques with an instructor.
If you have your own boards (specific SUP/WindSup boards, not windsurf boards) then members need only pay a £2 day launch fee and there’s no board registration fee. Pop into the shop before hand to check for any restrictions, a quick safety briefing and collect an armband.
SUP will be restricted in certain weather conditions and busy periods so a annual fee would not be suitable.
All paddle boarders will wear buoyancy aids and an arm band which will let us know how many and who is on the water – arm bands handed back at the end of the session will make up part of the safety procedures.
Full details will be on the website shortly.
