Membership renewal coming up

The new membership year is coming up shortly, it’s a fairly seamless task these days with WebCollect doing most of the hard work, and we’ll send everyone an email renewal notice on the 16th March.

If you need to make any changes to your membership (contact details, addresses, boats etc.) please log in to WebCollect or speak to Rebecca in the office.

Please remember to check you have the correct Membership option for your age when these emails arrive.

The biggest news though is…

MEMBERSHIP PRICE FREEZE!

The Committee has decided to hold membership and boat fees at the current year’s level for 2020/21. This is on the basis that our commercial income, which has long subsidised membership fees, are generating a reasonable surplus and so it was felt (by a majority vote) that the benefit of this could be passed on to the members by holding fees.

(It is important to stress that this is likely to be a one-off freeze. The formula for increasing our rent is driven by the annual increase in RPI and that will continue to increase every year so our fees must not fall too far behind those increases.)

FAMILY BOAT PACKAGE

In addition, the Committee has decided to create a new boat fee category. This is an option available to family memberships to include all their boats / sailboards in a ‘family boat fee’ of 2 times the annual boat fee.

This means that, if a family membership has more than 2 adult boats, or 1 adult boat and 2 junior boats, or 4 junior boats, their boat fees can be capped at this level.  There are relatively few families that will benefit from this but those that will are already spending a substantial amount of money with the Club and are usually significant contributors to it. Boats covered under this arrangement have to be sailed at least 90% of the time by Members in that Family Membership.
Log in to WebCollect to cancel your existing boat subscriptions and order the new package (Please note this will not be available until after 16th March).

The website calendar has been updated with all of the main event and activities scheduled for the next year, more updates and details will be sent out via Facebook etc, and for a summary of everything that your membership of Draycote Water Sailing Club gives you…
