- Taster sessions
A one off, 2 hour session all about getting out on the water for the first time in a safe and controlled environment. Run during the day for schools or early evening for youth groups, all sessions are supervised by qualified RYA instructors with RYA participation certificates available upon request for 4 to 24 juniors.
Arriving at Draycote, there is ample parking. All students are met by the staff for a short tour and safety brief followed by the distribution of wet suits, helmets and buoyancy aids. Before going afloat in the 2 person boats, the students receive a short land based demonstration on how to sail before launching out onto the beautiful reservoir.
Courses run over 3 to 5 days or 6 to 10 half day sessions.
All sailing courses follow the RYA syllabus which covers all the basics of sailing using both on water and shore based sessions. With a ratio of 6 students per instructor there is plenty of time to ask questions and get expert tips and instruction during the session. RYA log books and certificates are included.
Our affiliate membership offers more regular use of the water and club house facilities for established groups who wish to use their own resources to run activities. Currently these groups include but not limited to Rugby School, Warwick University, Rugby Canoe Club and Sea Cadet Units.
Affiliate membership is tailored to each groups requirements based on a number of factors including amount of time using the club, boat storage and group size so please contact the training department HERE for more information and quotes.
