Online entry is now open for the Draycote Youth Open on 30th December:
The event is open to RS Tera, ILCA, Topper and Optimist sailors, aged 23 & under.
We’ll be running 2 courses and fleet starts – full event info and the NOR are now online.
The event is sponsored by Fernhurst Books who have a 30% offer for entrants & their parents – see poster image for details.
New Volunteers Needed!
With the Draycote Dash being postponed, some of our volunteers can’t make the new dates. If you are able to help on one or both of the days, please let us know asap via office@draycotewater.co.uk
Entry Reopen – Closing 31st December
If the new dates actually work for you now and you want to race, entry has reopened online HERE and will close on Tuesday 31st December.
Boxing Day – bar will be open 12pm – 3pm with minced pies and mulled wine being served.
New Year’s Day – the Pursuit Race series prizegiving will take place straight after racing and bar will be open 12:30pm – 6:30pm.
Roger Darbyshire has been awarded the Commodore’s Cup this year in recognition of his voluntary work and input into the weekly Improver’s Group on Sundays.
He took on the group a couple of years ago and has been a great help and support to our new and inexperience sailors, helping to build their confidence and skills.
Mark Dunkley has been awarded a Long Service Award for his 25 years on Draycote’s staff team.
Starting out as a windsurf instructor before taking on the bosun role – and lots of other roles at times – he’s a stalwart of the Club.
Here’s to the next 25 years!
