Membership Renewal
The membership year is coming to an end and it is time for members to renew their membership.
The membership renewal letters will be available for collection from the Club this Sunday (22nd February) and Sylvia will be in the office to renew your membership. Any not collected on that day will be posted out to members.
The office will be open to take renewals on Sundays 22nd February, 22nd & 29th March and on Wednesdays 18th March and 1st April. At other times it can be done at the waterside reception / shop.
We are currently trialling a web based method of renewal, which will, hopefully, be in place next year.
Forthcoming Events
As the weather starts to warm up (?), the Club activities begin again in earnest.
Novice & Junior Racing
This popular series of events starts again on Sunday 8th March and on the first Sunday of every month thereafter. It provides an excellent gentle introduction to racing with a briefing beforehand and advice and coaching on the water.
There will also be an evening session for novices on Wednesday 11th March at 7.30pm in the Clubhouse. This will cover some racing tips and basic rules – an ideal reminder for the start of the year. The bar will be open! Anyone who has participated in Novice & Junior Racing in the last year is welcome at this seminar.
OOD Refresher Training
On Wednesday 18th March at 7.30pm in the Clubhouse we will be having another OOD Refresher Training session. This is a chance to be reminded on what you need to do when you are part of the OOD team and to catch up with any changes in the format or requirements. The bar will again be open!
Wednesday Evening Racing
And after these two warm-up sessions on Wednesday evening, Wednesday evening racing starts again on Wednesday 1st April!
The Barrier
It is perhaps tempting fate to say that the barrier by the Visitor Centre will shortly be operating (I remember saying this at the last OOD training exactly a year ago!), but it will, hopefully, be so. To get through this barrier you will need your membership car / fob, so please remember to always bring these up to the Club with you (and have them handy).
