Firstly, may I introduce myself. I am Andrea Halliman and I am the new Club Administrator, reporting to Dave Rowe. I will be in the office Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 2.30pm. I will be taking over many of Sylvia’s responsibilities in the next 6 weeks, and I am also taking on more responsibility for the Club’s marketing & communications (hence this Mail Chimp coming from me).

Club Regatta & Bart’s Bash
The Club Regatta & Bart’s Bash on Sunday 20^th September was a great success and our thanks to all who participated. A full report and results can be found here. Our thanks to all those who helped make it such a successful day, but particularly Marcellus Pryor and Jon Hughes. Congratulations to Katie Byne for winning the Bart’s Bash race convincingly in her Optimist. She also won the Children’s Sailing Assault Course in the afternoon, with Millie Irish.

Here is start No.1 going off and out in front is Oppy 6370 – that’s the eventual winner Katie Byne, showing ‘intent’.

The AGM
The AGM will be held in the Club at 7.30pm on Wednesday 11^th November.

The AGM papers will be available to collect from the Clubhouse lounge from Friday 3^rd October until Monday 12^th October, after which any which have not been collected will be posted to members. It obviously saves us a great deal of money if we don’t post them, so please collect them during this period.

The Committee
Phil Hunt has decided not to stand again as Commodore at the AGM. The Club owes Phil an enormous debt of gratitude for all the work he has done for the Club in the 4 years he has been Commodore (and on the Committee before that). Jan Hunt will also be retiring from the Committee. We thank Phil and Jan for all their hard work.

While most of the current committee are intending to put themselves up for election again, the current committee is very small and we do need more people to serve on the committee. In particular we are keen for people with experience in any of the following areas to stand for the committee: Construction / Building Surveyor, Accounting / Finance, Marketing / Sales, HR.

If you are interested in finding out more about what would be involved, please talk to any committee member or Dave Rowe.

To put yourself up for the committee you need to complete a nomination form and have a proposer and seconder. In the lounge there is a board showing the current nominations and nomination forms can be found there. When completed, they should be returned to the office or Dave Rowe.
