Come along to Draycote Water Sailing Club for a day of fun both on and off the water
Have a try at Sailing, Windsurfing and Paddleboarding*, plus meet our resident pirate, play some fun games and enjoy delicious food
A great family event for you to try new water activities
Try Sailing
This event is perfect for people looking to try sailing, or for those who have tried it before and would like to get on the water again. An experienced sailor will be in the boat with you, talking you through how the boat is operated and the controls.
£10 per group of up to 3 people (other people won’t be added to your group)
For ages 8+, under 16s must have an adult booked and in the boat with them

Try Windsurfing
Get to grips with windsurfing with a mini-session under the guidance of experienced windsurfers. Can you keep your balance and direct the sail to catch the wind? We’ll start with a demonstration on our land simulator before you take to the water.
£5 per person
Ages 14+

Try Paddleboarding
Paddleboarding is a relaxing way to travel around the water using the paddle gently coast along.
We’ll have an area of the water sectioned off for you to have a go.
£5 per person, booking on the day only as it will only go ahead in light winds – we’ll be checking the weather forecast and will update the page and our socials if it’s too windy.

Did you know there’s a pesky Pirate at Draycote Water?
He steals treasure coins and brave children have to chase after him, engage in epic water battles and recover the golden coins.

event Info and Details
What we'll provide for water activities
Everyone going on the water will be given a buoyancy aid and wetsuit. Children will be given helmets for sailing, and these are optional for adults.
What you must bring for water activities
- Swimwear for under the wetsuit
- Trainers that will get wet
- Bring a towel too in case you get wet
Changing rooms and lockers (£1 coin) are available
Weather and Safety
This event will run most weather conditions, including rain. We will only cancel if the wind is too extreme or there is lightning, and we will contact you if that is the case.
We will have water rescue staff on duty.
We will not allow anyone on the water if we believe they are under the influence of any alcohol or drugs, or if their behaviour is not considered safe.
Site Information
The whole Draycote Water Sailing Club is a smoking and vaping free zone.
Dogs are not permitted at any part of the Sailing Club site.
Car Parking
Car parking is available on site and you must pay for this at the end of your visit using one of the machines at the car park.
