Paddleboarding

Stand Up Paddleboarding is now available at Draycote Water with the option to hire our boards/kit or bring your own.
You do not need to be a Club member for any paddleboarding activities.

Hiring our boards

  • Non-member 1 hour board/kit hire £20
  • Club member 1 hour board/kit hire – FREE

A safety briefing is given when hiring kit.

We have 6 boards and work on a first-come-first-served basis, there’s no pre-booking or reservations.
Subject to weather conditions and availability.

Bringing your own boards

  • Non-member Day launch – £10
  • Club Member launch – free

You must have your own wetsuit, buoyancy aid and 3rd party insurance (please see below).

Day tickets are per board for a maximum of 2 people, with one person on a board at a time.

No need to pre-book, just turn up and head to the shop before launching.  Subject to weather conditions.

Club Membership

Regular Paddleboarders will find Club membership to be better value…

For example – 4 day launches a month (once a week) is £40 whereas unlimited Adult Membership is only £34.92 per month, and Family Membership is £45.58 per month.  Plus, hire of our kit and boards is free for our Club Members!

Other membership options for juniors and under 25’s are also available, click the link below to find out more.

Group Sessions

We can host corporate team days and social groups (e.g. Women’s Institute, Round Table) for group Paddleboard sessions (ages 18+), or a Mixed Watersport activity with Sailing and/or Windsurfing too.  Tailored to your organisation’s needs, the sessions are a fun and exhilarating way to try new sports, learn new skills and have fun together as a group.

Insurance & Safety

Anyone launching their own paddleboard, boat or windsurf at Draycote must have their own 3rd party liability insurance.  If you are only paddleboarding, then we suggest getting this through the British Stand Up Paddleboard Association who offer membership including insurance for around £30 per year.  If you are going to be launching sailing dinghies or windsurf boards as well, either as a club member or a day ticket, a more general insurance is best with insurance companies such as Towergate or GJW.

Buoyancy aids must be worn by anyone on the water at all times.

We strongly advise that you wear a wetsuit as the water remains cool even in summer months (this is compulsory during the winter).  Various options are available in terms of lengths and fabric thickness.  We will provide wetsuits and buoyancy aids to those hiring our boards.

Paddleboard Terms & Conditions
