Club Regatta
At bit of an advanced warning, but to ensure that it is in your diary: The Club Regatta and Bart’s Bash will be held on Sunday 17th September.
In the morning, there will be an Average Lap race, using the normal fleet starts. In the afternoon there will be a 60-minute Pursuit Race as well as Jon Hughes’ excellent sailing obstacle race for the Youth & Juniors.
Prizes will be awarded to the first adult boat (counting both races) and the first Junior boat, counting just the morning race. The Tom Pearson Trophy will be presented to the first placed Novice (defined as someone who has participated in Get Racing during the year).
We have run this event for the last 3 years and it has been a really fun occasion with lots of people on the water, on the shore and having a good time! It would be great if you could join us. All standards of sailing ability are very welcome!
Women on Water @Draycote
For the women members of the Club here’s a reminder ‘Women on Water’ is still taking place throughout the summer. It is a women-only sailing group that meets every Monday throughout the summer season from 5.30pm. Just turn up (no need to book) and sail for fun and confidence building. There is a £4 sub payable on the night that covers the boat/equipment hire and contribution towards safety cover and of course the all important cake!

What’s been happening
We had a good turn out for the 24 hour race at Lakeside Sailing Club near Peterborough at the start of July. Well done to all those who participated.
Following the agreement by the Committee to allow Foiling windsurfers we have seen those taking up the challenge!!

Don’t forget it’s the bank holiday pursuit race on Monday 28th August starting at 11:00am. The series continues with invitations to other clubs to join us and a prize up for grabs for the race and the series so don’t miss out!!
