Sailing Groups

We offer a range of weekly sailing sessions for our Members to both help improve you sailing with regular practice.  The groups offer the opportunity to ask questions and meet fellow sailors.

No need to pre-book or commit to all sessions, just turn up for the dates that suit you.

  • Free with your own boat, or boat hire is reduced to £7.50 for these sessions
  • Club membership is required for these groups
  • Groups are not training courses or suitable for people who haven’t learnt to sail yet
  • Most groups have a WhatsApp group, ask in the chandlery for joining details

Women on Water

Our women’s only sailing group has been running for several years and offers a dedicated time for women to sail together. A great opportunity to improve skills, ask questions and build confidence, as well as social fun with drinks and cake afterwards in the bar.

Monday evenings from April to September, starting at 5.30pm until water closing time.

Ask in the chandlery about joining their WhatsApp group for session updates and social evenings.

Improvers Group

The perfect group for new sailors who have just completed a course or for sailors returning to the water and needing some support.

This group is led by an experienced Club member and is all about getting confident with your sailing skills, asking questions, and trying various boats.

There is an active WhatsApp group to also arrange sailing at other times.

Sunday mornings 10am – 12pm, arrive a little earlier for your first session and to get a boat rigged ready.

Mainly run April – September, but there are sessions all year when the weather is suitable, details added to the WhatsApp group.

Novice Racing

Racing can be daunting prospect for novices – it’s not as simple as a ready, set, go race! There’s specific jargon and rules to learn but these sessions aim to simplify and demystify the sport.

First Sunday of each month April – September

Youth and Juniors

Our under 16 members meet on Friday evenings for race training and a BBQ, and on a Saturday morning for a more fun and social session.
