Day Skipper Theory Course

The RYA Day Skipper Theory course will provide you with a comprehensive introduction to the core subjects before progressing onto a practical course such as Competent Crew or Day Skipper. The course will equip you with enough knowledge to navigate around familiar waters by day. A basic knowledge of lights is also included to introduce you to night cruising.

First Aid Course

A one day course taught by a professional instructor  to achieve a working knowledge of first aid for people using water craft.

It covers all the usual first aid subjects, but from a boating perspective, including the recovery position in a confined space, CPR, including the drowning protocol, cold shock and hypothermia from immersion and/or exposure, seasickness and dehydration, medical assistance or advice by VHF, helicopter rescue.

Safe & Fun Course

An RYA requirement for all new and renewing dinghy instructor and senior instructors. The courses teaches an understanding of good safeguarding practices, how to recognise potential signs of abuse, how to deal with it and who to refer any concerns to.

The course takes around 3 hours to complete online and you will receive certification upon completion.

Safety Boat Course

This course covers the skills and techniques to provide effective safety cover to racing dinghies, cruising boats, windsurfers and other water users.

Powerboat Course

The RYA powerboat level 1 and 2 is a 2 day course covers the essentials of power boating. Includes the use and handling of tiller and steering wheel RIBs.

Check, Clean, Dry​

All visitors and Club members should follow the Check Clean Dry programme before bringing their craft to Draycote Water and when they take their craft away.
