RACE TEAM INSTRUCTIONS

Following input from ODs, the Race Team Instructions have been tweaked as follows:

When starting the sequence:

– Start the stopwatch at -5 minutes (there are instructions how to adjust this)

– Start the automatic start sequence when the stopwatch is at -4 minutes

(This procedure is much easier if you are doing OD on your own & the stopwatches are easier to set)

There are now examples of how to complete the lap sheets & fill in the results on the signing-on sheets

There is now a box on the signing-on sheet to record, when filling in the results, if there was a general recall

(These will make life much easier for the scorers)

OPEN MEETING RACE DUTIES

We are looking for Race team volunteers, we have lots of events in the calendar including a few Inland championships in the coming months and would like to see if anyone is keen to be involved in the race management.

There are many roles to be filled from Race officer to mark layer. being part of the race team is great fun and is excellent way to learn more about racing.

Many of the roles need no previous experience so if your interested then please come and have a chat at the club or drop us an email.

Please speak to Dave or email on daverowe@draycotewater.co.uk

BRITISH YOUTH SAILING CHAMPS

Entries are now open for the British Youth Sailing Regional Junior Championships!

It would be great to see as many Draycote Youth and Junior Topper, Tera, Optimist and Feva sailors entering this event. It will be a great weekend at our amazing home club venue.

You do not need to be a member of the class associations to enter this event. There is also a regatta fleet for the less experienced sailor so sailors of all abilities can have a great weekend.
