Early November News

3 weeks to go!

Online entry has been open for a couple of weeks now and the numbers are steadily creeping up but there are just 12 Draycote entries so far.

Entry closes on 19th November and there is no late entry option so don’t leave it to the last minute!

We also have one of the loaned RS Aeros available to use for the event with either a 5 or 7 rig, speak to Dave but it’s first come first served!

Remember that Draycote members get a discounted rate for the Dash event…

Sunday Helpers Needed

We could do with a couple more helpers on the water for the Sunday pursuit race, please contact Dave, Richard Botting or the Club office if you can help.

AGM - 6th November 2024

Thank you to everyone who attended last night’s AGM, there was a great turnout of 63 members and the Committee really appreciate the support shown.

The minutes are being typed up and will be circulated ASAP with the slides from the presentation.

Jeremy Atkins reported on the Membership Engagement Project that we ran in July with summary responses to the main themes. You can read the full response to every question/comment, plus a summarised version online now via the link below. Printed copies of the summary version are at the Clubhouse.

Commodore’s Cup

Each year we award the Commodore’s Cup to someone who we feel has made a significant contribution to the Club.

This year we have awarded the Cup to Roger Darbyshire for hie dedicated and enthusiastic running of the Improver’s Group each Sunday.

Roger has taken this on and organises it all by himself. He welcomes new and nervous sailors and his help and support has seen many go on to sailing with confidence.

Roger, we thank you.
