Members! Make a difference this summer by being an Improver Group Guide.
Our ‘Improvers’ completed a sailing course last year and need someone experienced to sail a simple course with them, answer questions, and generally make them feel welcome to the Club.
Sessions start in April for 2 hours on Sundays. There’s a rota in the shop so you can pick dates that work for you, and do as many or as few sessions as you’re able.
ACADEMY WINTER TRAINING
We are approaching the end of this year’s Draycote Academy training. The ILCA squad finished this weekend with a very windy regatta testing their sailing skills. Optimists, Toppers and 420s all have one more weekend to go.
All of our sailors have put in long hours working on their sailing and racing skills. The Academy has brightened up the club each weekend with the kid’s enthusiasm to go sailing, train hard and improve their racing. We look forward to seeing the results over the summer months.
Thanks to Steve Irish, Jess Lavery, Ed Higson, and Steph Harding for coaching. We will be back again next winter with a full program.
FLEET CAPTAINS NEEDED!
We’re still in need of a windsurf fleet captain, and also someone to represent our non-racing members. Fleet captains are a key link between the fleets and the Club Committee. They meet just twice a year to raise issues, hear about Club plans etc.
