What a brilliant day at the Club yesterday- sun all day along some “interesting” winds and to top it all off, Doom Bar on draught in the bar! Being the first Sunday of the month, it was the start of a new Get Racing series.

The April series was all about the Lasers with Josh Davis taking the 5-race series in his 4.7. Ethan Cheshire was hot on his heels in another 4.7 in 2nd and Heather Guppy took 3rd in her Radial. Well done to everyone. Medals for the April Series were presented yesterday before racing.

As this was the first race of the new series, we had coaches to assist those who are getting the hang of racing. This month it was the Flying Fifteen fleet providing the coaches (it is a different fleet every month).  We had 13 competitors, the biggest turnout of the year for Get Racing. There was close competition around the track, with Carla Fickling taking line honours in her Laser Radial, but it was the Tera Pros who came out on top on corrected time with James Knight taking 1st place, just 22 seconds ahead of Izzy Hughes in second following a titanic battle with positions swapping between the 2 Teras more than once throughout the race. It was a particularly fine result for James as it was his first time out with his new Pro rig.
