Summer is over, but our sailing season carries on…

It is officially Autumn now, but the weather has been good and there is plenty of sailing going on at your club!

Friday night sailing has finished for the year as the nights draw in, but as with last year we will have some social nights on the last Friday of the month through the winter. Dates are:

October 25th, November 29th, January 31st, February 28th.

Saturday Club carries on until October – last session is 19th October.

Our next big event is this weekend on Saturday 21st September-
Youth & Junior Championships.
This takes place instead of our usual Saturday Club and is open to all Youth & Junior DWSC members.   No need to register, just turn up!

Briefing will be at 10:30am – be changed and ready to launch your boat straight after the briefing.
First race will start at 11.00am. There will be 4 races: 2 races back to back in the morning, then lunch, then 2 more back to back races in the afternoon.

Prizegiving will take place after racing, with prizes in 3 age groups:
Under 12, 12-14, 15 to 18
Plus, spot prizes and awards for special achievement, so everyone has a chance to win!

If you fancy more racing, the following weekend we are hosting the RYA Midlands Region Junior Championships.
This will be a great event, and at you home club, so no need to travel!

Outside our organised activities, there is plenty of sailing to be had – Youth & Junior sailors are out on the water every Saturday and Sunday- so get together with your friends and go sailing!

Keep in Touch!
We continue to send e-mails out periodically, but our most regular communication is via our Facebook group, so if you are not a member, search Facebook for “Draycote Water S.C. Youth & Junior Fleet” or follow this link and ask to join (it is a closed group)

There is also plenty of news an information on our club website, and there are always posters announcing forthcoming events around the club, so keep an eye out when you visit.

Looking forward to seeing you out on the water soon!
