Safety Boat Course

The RYA Safety Boat course is run over 2 days and covers skills and techniques to provide effective safety cover to racing dinghies, cruising boats, kayakers and other water users.

The course is mainly practical taught on the water with some classroom theory sections.

Who this course is for

Volunteers needing a formal qualification to help at clubs and events
Instructors or safety boat drivers needing formal qualifications
Club membership is not needed

Course prerequisites

You should have a basic understanding of sailing boats and other craft
You must already have an RYA Powerboat Level 2 certificate
Minimum age 16 years
