Here is April’s Mailchimp
New Membership Year
The new membership year is almost upon us and you will all have received reminders about the renewing process. Click here http://draycotewater.co.uk/membership-renewal-reminder/ to find out what this means for your category of membership and if you are not sure, contact Dave or Andrea.
For a summary of everything that your membership of the sailing club brings you, click on the Benefits of Membership leaflet along with the Calendar which has a summary of the main events and activities scheduled over the next year.
Don’t forget that during April you will need to “recharge” your membership cards and fobs, so bring them into the shop when it is convenient (not five minutes before your race is due to start!).

Get Racing Start 2nd April
The Get Racing season for Novices and Juniors starts again on the first Sunday of every month. All those slightly apprehensive about joining in with the club racing need not be any longer. With a briefing beforehand, your own start at the end of the sequence and a coach boat to guide you round the course, what’s not to enjoy? Meet on the patio at 10.45am rigged and ready.
New this year, the special Novice and Junior start (No.6) will continue for RACE 1 each Sunday, just without the benefit of the coach boat. And there will be a monthly competition for these races, the results to be announced at the following month’s Get Racing.
The annual OOD training takes place this week. One session will be TODAY on Wednesday 29th March at 7.30pm. Another session will be held on Sunday 2nd April at 3.30pm. Come along to brush up on your OOD skills and learn about the changes to the racing format for the summer season and the Pursuit Race Series.
Our bank holiday Pursuit races start again on Easter Monday (17th April). We have made a few changes: They are now open to non-members (£10 entry fee – still free to Club members), there is a new starting procedure with fleets starting when their number goes up (not down), there will be a visible clock on the Committee boat and in the wet bar indicating time to / from datum so it is much clearer when your start is. This is all in the new Club Racing Sailing Instructions which are on the website.

Youth & Junior
There is an action-packed calendar this year for the Youth and & Junior section. Read all about the planned activities in Jon Hughes newsletter http://draycotewater.co.uk/youth-and-junior-spring-mailer/
