Summer Showcase 2026

by Draycote Water Sailing Club

Send us your event, adventure, success, fun story!

We know many of our Draycote sailors have been to events this summer and we want to celebrate all levels of sailing – not just the podiums and medals.

Maybe you went to an event for the first time, went just for the travel and the enjoyment of it, or perhaps you were in a new boat class. Maybe, it all went a bit pear-shaped but there’s a funny story or valuable lesson behind it!

Whatever your summer had for you, we would love to share it with our fellow members. Email the office with your anecdote, a report link, some photos and we’ll add it on here.

Hari Clark wins the Topper 5.3 World Champs

Draycote sailor, Hari Clark, wins the 2026 Topper Worlds

Hari Clark has won the 2026 Topper Worlds at Quiberon in France, beating a hugely competitive fleet of 134 young sailors from around the globe.

His impressive scoreline in the Topper 5.3 fleet saw him winning with a race to spare.

Hari is now a triple world champion, having previously won the title in the Topper 4.2 class in 2024 and RS Tera Sport in 2025.

Hari is also leading the fleet at the Topper Nationals, we’ll update this page once the event has completed.

Stella Nygard is the Waszps Women's National Champion

Draycote sailor, Stella Nygard, is the WASZP UK Women's National Champion

Four Draycote sailors made their way to Weymouth for the Waszps UK Nationals.

Conditions were great with some pretty full on winds for some races but the final day of racing was lost due to lack of wind.
It was the girls, both running the 7.5 rig, that delivered for team Draycote with Stella becoming “Queen Waszp”- Women’s National Champion and Imogen also on the podium in 3rd.

The Boys did well too, though. They both had the larger 8.2 rigs. Bob took 3rd Youth (U21) But the highest team Draycote position overall across the 2 combined fleets goes to Theo, 17th Overall.

Dave Wade takes 3rd at the Fireball Worlds

An incredibly impressive result given that Dave badly damaged his back at last year’s Worlds and has had to take some time for recovery. Plus, 6 other Draycote sailors took part in the event in Torbay.

Nigel and Aaron Davis have new personal best result

Nigel and Aaron Davis travelled to Germany for the RS500 Europeans and have new peronal best result.

Read their story from the event which was part of the RS Games.
