Draycote Unshackled
Thanks to the hard work of its editor, Ian MacWhinnie, and many contributors, this summer’s Draycote Unshackled has been published. It can be downloaded here.
Physical copies will be available at the Club this weekend.
It is a fantastic read, covering the successes of both our younger and senior members. It is simply staggering that DWSC youth & junior members took half the awards at the Rugby Borough Council Excellence in Sport Awards and that Colin Newman and Tim Davison are still cutting it at their venerable ages! We have a great Club and great members (young and old)!
Open Day
But we need to tell more people about the great facilities and opportunities that we offer and our Open Day – just 2 weeks away (Saturday 16th May) – is the opportunity to do just that.
We have an almost full team of helpers on the day, although we would really welcome anyone who is prepared to promote the windsurfing side of the Club. (It is fantastic that one of the Excellence in Sport winners is a windsurfer, but he is away that weekend competing!)
We also need help in publicising the day. Invite your colleagues, friends, neighbours and enemies.
Leaflets are available for distribution from the shop. We know that many areas are covered, but still need help covering Barby, Brinklow, Broadwell, Coventry, Harbury, Leamington Spa, Long Lawford, Marton, Ryton-on-Dunsmore, Stretton-on-Dunsmore, Southam, Warwick and Wolston.
We also need help in blitzing the Severn Trent car park on Sunday 3rd May (pm), Saturday 9th May (am & pm) and Sunday 10th May (pm). It shouldn’t take too long to put a leaflet on every car – so please volunteer.

It’s on again this Sunday, with the Fillmore’s in charge again!
Bank Holiday Pursuit
Compete in the John Siggers (now back again as a member!) Pursuit Race on Monday 4th May. Datum is at 11am.
